The Leroy Fund
In 2004, a dog named Leroy jumped the fence around his owner's yard and was hit by a car. His injuries required several surgeries and, when they became too costly for his owners to afford, they elected euthanasia. Fort Hunt Animal Hospital volunteered to take responsibility for Leroy in order to keep treating him, so his owners signed ownership over to us. With help from the community, he was able to recover from his injuries and was adopted out to a local family. He still visits Fort Hunt for routine care.
Because of Leroy and other pets in need, we have set up the Leroy Fund. All donations go toward animals and their families when medical expenses become a burden.
