Dr. Jerry Hinn
Dr. Hinn is a Virginia native and received his DVM from the University of Georgia. His special interests include surgery, veterinary dentistry, and nutrition and vitamin supplementation. In addition to the care of cats and dogs, Dr. Hinn also enjoys caring for birds and exotic pets. Dr. Hinn is a member of numerous local and national veterinary associations, as well as the Critical Care Society, American Veterinary Dental Association, and the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians. Dr. Hinn and his wife Georgia reside in Alexandria with their cat Purry.

Dr. Karen Davis
Orginally from the Washington D.C. Maryland suburbs, Dr. Karen Davis graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Biology from the University of Maryland. She then graduated from the University of Florida's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. Her special interests include surgery and anesthesia. Dr. Davis lives in the Mount Vernon area with her husband, Rick, two children, Laurel and Cole, two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and two cats. Her other interests include gardening, golf and running. A lifelong musician, she also plays clarinet in the Fairfax Wind Symphony.

Dr. Jennifer Bowles
Dr. Jennifer Bowles is originally from Southwest Virginia. She received her Bachelors degree in Biology from the College of William and Mary and her Veterinary degree from the VMRCVM (Virginia Tech). After completing an internship in Charlotte, NC she began practicing emergency medicine in Springfield, and then Richmond. Her special interests include emergency medicine surgery, and endocrinology. She is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, and the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society. Dr. Bowles and her husband, Erik, live with two adorable Boxer boys named Copper and Adibi, and two lazy cats, Peanut and Buttercup.

Dr. Meredith Burkholder
Dr. Burkholder was raised in Northern Virginia although she spent some time living in the United Kingdom during her teenage years. She graduated summa cum laude from Virginia Tech and then graduated with the same honors from Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She is a member of the AVMA, DC Academy as well as the veterinary honor society, Phi Zeta. Her interests include internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. She resides in Alexandria with her husband, daughter and their dogs. In her free time, Dr. Burkholder enjoys horseback riding, traveling and watching Hokie football.

Dr. Krista Strother
Dr. Krista Strother, a North Carolina native, graduated from North Carolina State University with her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and a minor in Nutrition. She continued her education at NCSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine where she received her veterinary degree. She is currently a member of the DC Academy of Veterinary Medicine and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Strother’s special interests include veterinary dentistry, ophthalmology, and exotic animal medicine. In her free time, she enjoys painting, photography, being outdoors, and supporting Wolfpack sports. She currently lives in Alexandria with her cat Percephone and dog Abbey.

Susan Hmara, Manager and LVT
An actual "local," Susan was born and raised in Alexandria, VA. She graduated with a BS in Biology from Radford University in 1994, then pursued her veterinary technician degree at NVCC. She became licensed in 1998. Susan's interests include anesthesia and dentistry, and outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband, young son, and two labs, Frankie and Lola, who are named after a Jimmy Buffet song.

Jessie Langone, Operations Manager
Born and raised in Alexandria, VA, Jessie started at Fort Hunt Animal Hospital in February 2001 as a kennel assistant and then quickly moved up as a veterinary assistant. Her interests include pocket pets and client compliance. Jessie lives in Alexandria with her husband, two Beagles, Queen Victoria and Thumbelina, and two cats, Princess Mousikens and Cheesie-Cat.

Shannon Rohr, Shift Supervisor
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Shannon joined our team in September 2008. Her interests include dental care, avian and pocket pet care, and nutrition. She currently lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, Paul, two dogs, Mae and Red Bull, and a Cockatiel named Curly.

Orginally from Alexandria, Jennifer began at Fort Hunt in August 2011. She currently lives in Lorton with her husband, daughter and their dogs.

Alyssa is originally from Richmond, VA. After receiving a B.S. degree in Wildlife Science from Virginia Tech, she moved to Maryland with her husband, their dog, Mak, and their cat, Chloe.

Kat is currently enrolled in the Veterinary Technician program at NVCC Loudoun. She lives in Alexandria with her family, dog and two cats.

Melissa Rubesch, Veterinary Assistant
Melissa joined our team in April 2003 as our morning kennel assistant and quickly moved up into a veterinary assistant position. Her interests include working with animals, specifically Hound Dogs. Melissa lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, two sons, two dogs, Hunny and Parcy, and two cats, Rufus and Socrates.

Liz Williams, Veterinary Assistant
Born and raised in Springfield, Liz joined our team in May 2010. She is currently enrolled at James Madison University and spends her holidays and summer with us. She is currently studying Biology with the hopes to go to vet school in the future. When she isn't off at JMU studying, she lives in Springfield with her family and dog, Tasha.
